Jasmine’s Butterfly Garden

Jasmine's Butterfly Garden

10½" x 13½"

Monkscloth - $24, Linen - $27

This is our summer view of the flower garden Jasmine planted for us in the backyard when she was in high school.  She chose to hook it with some creative hooking “stitches”.

Paisley Garden

Paisley Garden

24" x 36"

Monkscloth - $65, Linen - $82

Definitely the most requested oriental pattern. Here are 2 very different versions. My daughter, Jasmine, hooked the one on the left when she was 15, in class with Barbara Miller. She was so excited when it was accepted in Celebrations.

Joan Wray worked on this Paisley Garden in my class at Caraway Camp…now she says it looks regal in front of her fireplace.  I bet it does!

Longtime wool customer Avis Rickman and I finally got together at Caraway rug camp in 2010. . where she worked on Paisley Garden that I’d colour planned for her.  It is now beautifully completed and she got many well deserved compliments on its rich colours, set off by the Creamed Corn background.

Kim McWilliams loves purple, and asked if she could have some in her Paisley Garden.  Why not?

Many years ago, Jan Pierce started this with me and she recently finished it!  I’d forgotten the unusual colouration we did and love  how it turned out.

Marilyn Hahn started this with me at Rock River Camp a few years ago, and brought it finished this Oct, 2016.  Beautifully done!

Paradise Treat

Paradise Treat

13" x 16"

Monkscloth - $31, Linen - $34

A lovely small shaded piece…nice for a footstool or framed picture.

Sibyl Osicka colour planned and dyed the wool for Jasmine.  It’s a fussy little piece, but beautiful when done and framed!

Persian Footstool

Persian Footstool

11" x 14"

Monkscloth - $19, Linen - $22

This neat miniature oriental can be also made into a small mat or tote bag.  My daughter, Jasmine, hooked the red and white one when she was in high school.  I do this pattern for workshops or mini classes, so I hooked mine – the one on the left – in 2 different colourways to give a choice of kits!  It’s not very big, so you need a 3 or 4 cut.  Like most orientals.

Chinese Musicians

Chinese Musicians

18" square

Monkscloth - $31, Linen - $34

This delicate design is meant for those hookers who call a 4 cut “wide”…definitely a highly detailed piece.  It is exquisitely Oriental when done!

The one on the left above is Jasmine’s “Chinese Musicians”, done when she was in her first year of college, with very capable instruction from Nancy Elliott.

The one below was impeccably hooked by my good buddy, Sibyl Osicka.  The gold outlines add a cloisonne touch.

White Kittens into Mischief

White Kittens into Mischief

20" x 24"

Monkscloth - $57, Linen - $69

This design was included in New Earth Designs originally, and is from a Currier and Ives.  My daughter, Jasmine enjoys a challenge and hooked the lower one in her early 20’s with Sibyl Osicka.  It’s definitely a piece for an advanced student; the tablecloth alone is daunting!   The top one is a a masterfully done “White Kittens.”
