Why the sisters bought New Earth Designs

Both of us have had experience with the family-owned businesses and Marcia did the books for her husband's business for many years while Rachel and her husband have had a couple of forays into the small business world over the years along with having MBAs.  Both of us absolutely LOVE patterns!  When we were sewers, we always had enough material to start up a store!  As rug hookers, we could easily do the same thing!  But we don't actually want to part with anything, THAT'S the problem!  The joke is that we have to live at least to age 100 to get all these patterns hooked!  I'm just going to start framing them!  One truth is that we both can "see" what it would look like completed and that drives us to get the pattern for "someday"; another truth is that we come from a family of "don't throw that away; you might need it someday" people so when we see someone tossing out (good Scottish) burlap patterns or selling older McGown or Old Sturbridge or Heirloom patterns, we have to "save" it!  We have a thing for the vintage!  Seeing the pattern-business-only for sale was one of those moments of "this was meant to be"!  I imediately texted Marcia after seeing the ad in ATHA Magazine and said what do you think?  And a couple hours later we had letter ready for the mail!  It's really a great fit for two gals who love patterns, and New Earth Designs has a good mix of primitive, fine cut, pictorial, flowers, whimsical, wide cut...and yes, even those Orientals I haven't yet grown fond of!
