I took this photo of Anne Ashworth's cabistan in the early 80's, at the very first camp i attended. I so admired her version, and never dreamed I would own the business that had it. On the right is Agnes Chidester's lovely Cabistan.

For Cabistan, Joan Fitzgerald brought in her leftovers from prior orientals. We used them up, and added as needed. It looks like the real thing with several different blues that all came together. The fringe adds the finishing touch; I carry different ones in the studio for choosing.
